Choosing a location for your engagement session can be a challenge. Especially living in California where there are so many beautiful spots you could go! For Heather and Mark’s engagement session, they wanted to go to one of their favorite spots, Fort Funston. Located in San Francisco, Fort Funston is home to gorgeous sand dunes, high bluffs and stunning panoramic views of the ocean.
If you are local, then you know that the weather at our coast can be VERY unpredictable. As I drove through downtown San Francisco, I encountered several patches of dense fog. I was almost certain that the beach would be overcast and chilly. But as I pulled into the parking lot and met with Heather and Mark, it was an absolute perfect day. There were several families and couples out walking their dogs (Fort Funston is one of the few beaches that allows off leash pups) and enjoying the amazing weather.
The walk from the parking lot to the beach is about 15 minutes which allowed me to get to know Heather and Mark more. We chatted about their upcoming wedding in Seattle and how Fort Funston had become one of their favorite spots to visit with their dog during the pandemic. The beach had become the perfect outdoor escape for them during 2020. We walked the coastline, taking pictures and enjoying the sunset. It was an absolute beautiful evening with two incredible souls.
